Identify the Enemy

If we want to defeat an enemy, we first have to understand the enemy. Many fans have painted Neca toys as the enemy. But we all know too well that’s misleading, because they have given us the figures we’ve been wanting since we we’re kids. No, the REAL problem lies within the distribution process at Target & Walmart. Misinformed employees, release dates that vary from store to store, lack of information on tracking, and less than ideal shelving spaces. TMNT ambassadors have a unique opportunity to fight the system, and give a better opportunity to U.S. collectors everywhere.

Think back to the simpler times of childhood, where going to the toy store was an adventure of it’s own. Just as fun as collecting the figures themselves. Malls had Kay-Bee toys, and Toy’s R’ US’s were packed full Ninja Turtles. Stores held events with their releases, where The Ninja Turtles would actually come and interact with their fans & hand out exclusive promo materials. Here at The Lightbulb Agency, we’re proposing to bring those times back.  Curating a select group of Turtle Ambassadors,  representatives of Neca and  the TMNT fan community that make sure that true collectors get their fair shot at scoring figures the DAY OF the release. Creating a community event that partners with Target, Walmart, and Neca, and provides a shopping experience just as nostalgic as the toys. Where fans can meet and interact with each other, and even set up trades from previous releases. Knowing that there will be stock, even if they have to road trip for miles to get there.

We know that an overwhelming majority of fans are unhappy with the way TMNT figures are being released. We also know how hard Neca works to create and manufacture quality figures, and that should ultimately reflect in the way that collectors receive the product. Pulling off an event of this magnitude can be a challenge, but The Lightbulb Agency is committed to bringing forth change. Developing a Release Day Event that works in tandem with Target, Walmart, Neca, and Turtle fans themselves. Giving collectors more of an incentive to stay loyal to Neca and their products, and rewarding them for the resilience they put forth in continuing the hunt for action figures.

The Lightbulb Agency is committed to seeing TMNT x Neca collectors get satisfaction out of their toy hunting experience. To recreate the nostalgia of going to a toy store, connecting with other collectors, and reliving the Fan Club days of 90’s past.

Hand Select a group of TMNT Ambassadors

TMNT Ambassadors are critical in making sure the release days go smooth. A group of hard-core Turtle fanatics dedicated to figure hunting, and even more dedicated to seeing Neca toys get into the hand of the fans, and not scalpers or bots. Ambassadors will be responsible for representing their local Target & Walmart's, and making sure stock is on the shelves, and sending out tweets and updates as stores receive shipments in their area.

Create an official Neca x TMNT fan club

Developing a Fan Club can be a great way to incorporate more TMNT nostalgia into a product. Maybe even bringing back the Pizza Point system, allowing even more exclusive access to figures and one of a kind merch not sold in stores. The fan club can be subscription based, and develop it's own home delivery system, similar to Lootcrate and the like. The Lightbulb Agency will be fighting to see it happen and work together with companies to make sure collectors are satisfied!

Collaborate with Target & Walmart for Release Day Event

Getting Target & Wal-Mart on board is critical to making drops go smooth. Making sure the staff is informed and educated on Neca products and how they are a critical part of the electronics section. TMNT ambassadors and retail staff work hand in hand to make sure drop goes smooth, and fans have an equal shot of getting their hands on the figures.
